Paracombe Caretaker Cabernet 2018

The Paracombe plateau is one of the free places in the Adelaide Hills region where Cabernet Sauvignon genuinely thrives, and where the Drogemuller family has fortunately stayed the course with the variety. From a much-lauded vintage, this has clear and familiar blackberry and black currant aromas with a herb/floral note, palate flavours echoing these elements with an added earthiness like crumbled rich and dark soils. Two and a half years in French barrels has let the wine mellow with a subtle cedar edge, the feel mid-weight at most, offering enjoyable drinkability. An all Cabernet celebration in the glass.
