Paxton Griseo Pinot Gris 2023

A salmon-like colour for this McLaren Vale Pinot Gris left on skins for five days. Griseo means grey in Latin., and I agree: Pinot Gris/Grigio allowed to show its natural colour is still a grey area for many. Best to enjoy at room temperature. Fresh red cherries, redcurrants, watermelon, and a touch of rose water. Six months in amphora, the palate is vinous and savory; red berries meet citrus aromas of pink grapefruit and mandarin. Refreshing acidity with a gentle phenolic grip. An interesting wine indeed.
