Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2018

Share

There is lovely fruit purity to this St Henri, as always, thanks to the exclusive use of 50+ year old vats for aging. Opaque ruby in colour there are seamless and vibrant aromatics here of black slate, and roasted meat with blackberry and a dusting of fennel seed. The palate is then dry and compact with a firm drive to the fruit. What is remarkable is that it is also underpinned by the finest, almost lacy, tannins that provide a long and silky finish. Open knit and supple, this is a younger drinking vintage of St Henri which does however carry an almost hypnotic and irresistible beauty.
