Peter Lehmann Wigan Eden Valley Riesling 2015

Share

If wines are to be judged by show medals and trophies alone, Peter Lehmann’s Wigan Riesling is one of the country’s top white wines. Every vintage is a star in wine shows around the country and the 2015 vintage is up there with the best. It comes off a single vineyard just outside of Angaston, and despite its six years of age this wine is still beautifully youthful and pale in colour – it has hardly moved, which says plenty about the future. The fruit is bright and pure radiating with gently aromatic lime and lemongrass aromas with just a hint of toastiness poking through, but the overall impression is of youthful vitality and freshness. What follows is a streamlined and silky palate – the fruit powerful yet understated with a crisp acid bite to drive its long and elegant finish. Fans of Wigan will love it as will anyone with a taste for high quality Eden Valley Riesling.

This wine will be released in 2021.
