Pike & Joyce Lenswood Méthode Traditionnelle Reserve Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2020

This is an extra brut, aperitif style sparkling wine, which is largely Chardonnay with just a little bit of the gamey Pinot. It spent four and a half years on lees, during which time it has developed some richness and complexity, but the lower dosage level of three grams per liter ensures it retains that fine, edgy structure that suits the aperitif style. Lovely aromatics of brioche and lifted citrus and stone fruit, while the palate has a most attractive citrusy, peachy complexity with deeper notes of fresh-baked bread emerging. It’s an elegant and most stylish wine that delivers through to a very long finish.
