A tangy, rustic and darkly toned aromatic opening with dark plum, boysenberry, choc mint, blueberry, subtle dried herbs and a smoky nuance. Some peppercorn spice with air. The palate is equal parts juicy and sinewy though with a sense of coolness and brightness through the fruit. Plum skin, blueberry, and boysenberry sit above green herbs before ribbons of chewy tannins constrict the mouth through a cool and tangy plum-skin laced finish. This is a grower (pardon the pun) and needs air to unfurl and show its true colours. Once it has, it’s quite compelling.
