Provenance Shiraz 2024

This opens savoury, with woodsmoke, charred green beans, charred root vegetables, beets, stemminess and black pepper hovering over dark cherry, blackberry and plum. The savouriness is appealing rather than overt or overbearing. The palate is medium-bodied and intense, again with those savoury, bunchy tones at the fore — beetroot, woodsmoke and charred root vegetables. Similar fruit notes to the perfume, with attractively bitter cacao nib adding gastronomic edge. The tannins are chalky and fine-but-firm, putting up a lovely frame to solid length. A compelling release capturing the Geelong style well. This would come to life with food.
