Purple Hands Barossa Valley Aglianico 2024

Share

Aglianico is a tannic grape at home in southern Italy yet it’s great to see it spreading across Australia now. The 2024 is a delightful and instantly likeable wine, with stunning fruit aromas of red cherry, strawberry, black cherry and mulberry, plus some bramble and pepper. The palate is medium all the way – body, acid, tannin and alcohol – yet it’s rich in flavour, and with a bit more time in bottle, the grippy tannins will be tamed and it will improve even more.
