Quealy Mornington Peninsula Turbul Ribolla Gialla 2021

Share

We’re starting to see a bit more Ribolla Gialla trickling into the market from Australian plantings, and I’m all for it. Like basically all Quealy wines, it’s very aromatically expressive, the combination of characters stemming from its vinous origins but also the many months of skin contact: lemon, lime, wax, orange flower, apple, pastry, almond, honey. The vibrant, oxygen-infused fruit and concentrated flavours are in counterpoint to the grape’s usually simple spectrum. It’s quite light bodied so it’s nice to sip with a meal or even to have on a warm night.
