Riposte Wines The Katana Chardonnay 2023

Share

The ’23 vintage in the Adelaide Hills was cool, the coolest in 100 years. The wet and cold season played a big part in this wine, delivering a delicate, linear expression of Chardonnay, more so than usual for the region. Aromas of just-ripe peach, nectarine, lemon, grapefruit and apple blossom florals are subtle and alluring. Quite refined with a youthful vitality delivering citrus and stone fruits hand in hand with a bustling lemony acidity. On the leaner side at this early stage, and while acid hounds will rejoice, the best is yet to come.
