RockBare McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020

Share

This is a McLaren Vale shiraz of the old school, the one that dictates that the ripeness of the fruit should be more than matched by the input of the oak. A warm, rich, round shiraz, the kind that McLaren Vale made famous, is the result. It’s a rolling, free-wheeling bunch of ripe black berries, licorice, plum and sweet toasted oak. It’s upfront and obvious, which is not to suggest there isn’t structure, there is. It’s all to do, once again, with the role of oak; in this instance its associated tannins. With a touch of alcohol heat to close, this wine fills the mouth and falls easily into the easy-going Vale shiraz that many love.
