Schubert Estate The Gander Reserve Shiraz 2015

Oh my, there’s some serious things happening here. The opening is pure Barossa, although the use of French oak is a point of difference with traditional Barossa styles. Still, you get that mix of boot polish and liquorice immediately with a gamey meat concentrated consommé type of thing happening. The palate is generous and massively concentrated with deep dark fruit flavours augmented with 24 months French oak contribution. Firm tannins and plenty to offer in a power-packed palate.
