Sidewood Ironstone Barrels The Tyre Fitter Syrah 2021

Share

Sourced from another of the Sidewood Estate vineyards, this time in Echunga, where seven different Shiraz clones are nurtured. This is a single clonal variation, in a limited volume bottling, coming out of a partial whole bunch fermentation into 12 months maturation in 30% new French barrels. While it carries the “Syrah” nomenclature to signify a cooler climate style, it has an individual richness, prompted by a blue-floral nose and a fair waft of oak matched in the palate with bright and energetic crimson-berried flavours, underlying acidity balancing and driving the overall thrust of this wine. It all comes together with a kind of elegant ease; a wine most comfortable in its own skin.
