Sordo Rocche di Castiglione Barolo 2017

Share

The Rocche di Castiglione is always a generous wine that has become a classic in the Castiglione Falletto commune. Medium ruby in the glass, perhaps the deepest across all Sordo crus. This wine is not one for your imagination! It reveals layers and offers complexity straight up. Porcini, boot polish, fading roses, baked blood orange, juicy dark cherry and dried cranberry – aromatic complexity is an understatement! The palate displays Parussi’s (cru) robust character with the finesse of Rocche. Chalky mouth-coating tannins are sitting in every corner of the palate. These are sweet, round and ripe tannins unveiling details and textural nuances. The fleshy fruit core is slowly taken over by a savoury and dry finish of a bold, dry martini. An incredibly serious and detailed wine that will age gracefully and give lots of pleasure when opening a bottle.
