From a most desirable vineyard in the Castglione Falletto district which is well noted for its more muscly vinous intentions – surprising given its delightful ruby gloss in the glass and attractive aromas of dried florals and kitchen herbs. To taste however, it’s all about power, with plenty of palate strength and underlying meatiness – a sense of pepperiness as a dominant seasoning – with a fairly grippy finish. One for big meat braises at the table, and also a decent cellaring for future revelations.
