Kangaroo Island is noted for some terrific Cabernets. The ’22 comes with a full sense of ripeness and nicely concentrated flavours. Among the black plum, dark fruit, dried herbs, acacia, briar, bay leaf and earth, there is a touch of peppermint/Aussie bush excitement that really lifts the palate, providing a point of tasting difference. Fermentation was finished in barrel and maturation was in French oak (30% new) for 12 months, and the oak has definitely been well crafted producing ripe, supple tannins which work beautifully in their role.
