St Hallet Old Block Shiraz 2022

It’s giving fountain-pen ink — the kind that stains glass, teeth, maybe even your soul… as all great wines should. Ribena, blackberry jubes, milk chocolate and sweet baking spices pull me straight into the land of reverie. Stoic at heart, a soldier with a soft centre. Thick and rich on the palate, yet elegant and beautifully structured. Framed by ripe cacao-powder tannins — gripping, sinking slow. The finish is a peppering of nasturtium leaf, coffee bean, dried black plum skins. Well thought out, well executed. One to watch unfurl. One to truly indulge in.
