A $20 wonder of a wine that offers some stunning quality for the tiny price. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec combines all the good bits of each grape – the leafy herbs and cassis of Cabernet, the black cherries and smooth chocolate notes of Merlot and Malbec’s blue fruits and earthy warmth. The aroma is lifted and ripe in fruits and spices – very welcoming. The palate introduces some added peppery spice to the bright fruits and leafy, fresh earthy notes before finishing with a gentle tannin grip. Fills the mouth with rounded, fine-knitted flavours. A terrific, approachable young red that runs long on the tastebuds and rises well above its price point.
