St Hallett Old Block Shiraz 2019

Share

Dark and brooding aromas of dusty cedar and blackberry first up, followed by liquorice root, meat and iodine. Everything clicks into place with air, along with some emergent coal and cut leather. The palate is full bodied with a good burst of intensity in the form of blackberry, leather, mocha, and earth underpinned by savoury oak notes. Despite its dark aesthetic, it’s not weighty through the palate. A fine weave of mocha laced tannins work with good acidity to a long poised finish carrying black fruits and coal. Good complexity, finesse and length on show.
