St Hugo Eden Valley Riesling 2023

A cooler and later vintage (probably not something we’ll hear that often in the future with climate change), it was a healthy one providing some excellent wines. Riesling certainly seems to have done well. Pale straw hue here, this is fresh, elegant, steely and lean – exactly what one would expect from this style of vintage in the Eden Valley. Notes of citrus, grapefruit and lemon pith, to the fore here. Showing paper cut acidity, impressive length and fine balance, this will drink beautifully for the next eight to ten years, if needed.
