Stonehaven Limited Vineyard Release Padthaway Shiraz 2025

From the Padthaway region in South Australia, this cracking Shiraz underwent barrel fermentation, before a further year and a half maturation in those barrels. An opaque maroon hue, this is an intense and slightly earthy style of wine. The nose gives us aromas of black fruits, licorice, chocolate, black jellybeans, mocha, cloves, beef stock and smoked meats. There are also spicy notes, including a touch of pepper. Quite complex already, we can expect that to increase over time. A juicy style which is well focused and has balance, along with excellent length through to very sleek tannins, this should drink extremely well over the next ten to twelve years.
