This opens with a bang in terms of brash, feral tones before settling with some time in the glass. Plum skin, cracked spice, game meat, some dark cherry tones and a build of blueberry. Less wild in the mouth. The palate has some crunchy red and blue fruits — red plum, blueberry, cherry — along with black pepper and iodine. The tannins are crunchy and the finish is medium. An interesting wine, and one the classicists should avoid, but the adventurous might find riotous.
