Stonier KBS Chardonnay 2024

Share

Only a 100 dozen made, like all the range that now sits in much smaller quantities. A blend of P58 and I10 the east facing block that is Lyre trellised. Wild ferment, no battonage, partial malo and into French puncheons of which 22% is new. There is an innate dynamism about this wine, a yuzu of citrus with an almost candied rind character.  Ripe peaches and monstera deliciosa, a touch of feijoa pulp. Oak nips in at the edges with saw dust and talc. It is the weave-like texture of phenolics that has me captivated, this allows for its faculty and and bedazzling angles to really take hold. This can handle roasted white meats, a pork medallion with brown butter and sage. Drink now or will cellar well for 8-10 years. A wine for contemplating and drinking over entree to main.
