Swinney Frankland River Grenache 2019

Share

The rise of Australian Grenache continues across the country and Swinney have come out of nowhere to stake a claim for Western Australia and the Frankland River. This is a wine that possesses not only the steely intensity of serious red wines from the Frankland River but also the savoury side of Grenache.

It is quite deeply coloured for grenache and is immediately broody with ironstone, spice and herbal fruits on a bed of dark fruits with a licorice fruit edge. On the palate the wine is equally firm and unyielding in a muscular and meaty kind of way, its concentrated fruits would up tight and demanding time to unfurl. A very unique style of Australian Grenache showing plenty of potential.
