Taltarni Dynamic Shiraz Viognier 2020

A fine local example of the famous northern Rhône blend, this one is Shiraz 94% and 6% Viognier. Co-fermentation takes place in open-top fermenters, with a small percentage of whole bunches (both varieties). The wine spent a year in a mix of new and older French oak. Dark maroon in colour, it is fresh and vibrant. Red fruits, raspberries, coffee grinds, leather, a hint of florals and spices. A lovely, seductive texture and a good lingering finish, well focused and balanced. This has a good five to eight years ahead of it.
