Gris in name but close your eyes and that scent, gee, it’s so Gewürz spicy it’s uncanny. High florals – lychee, baked apple with cassia bark – capture your attention first followed by that enveloping spiciness in cardamon and bergamot. There is a clear, off-dry sweetness to the palate. There is also weight. A warm, rounded mouthfeel brings to life apple, pear and Asian lychee and spice, which makes this an absolute no brainer of an accompaniment to Asian cuisine.
