Picked at night, to ensure cool fruit and freshness, the whole berries go to the press before a cold soak provides the exact colour the team at Taylors is after. Gentle pressing precedes stainless steel tank fermentation. The final package, a clear bottle with shades of seahorses, is as elegant as the wine itself. A pale, indeed quite shy, blush pink, but there is nothing shy about the flavours. Raspberries, spices, florals and cherries. A forward style with a supple texture, this is a fresh wine of medium length, but lacking nothing in the lifted, almost pungent fruit aromas. Bright acidity and a hint of fruit sweetness here. A delicious Rosé for chilling and enjoying over summer.

Ken was born and bred in Brisbane, Queensland. He had a non-trendy, perfectly happy childhood, in a family convinced alcohol meant instant condemnation to Hades. But a break fishing on the Great Barrier Reef, and some good wine, started a serious obsession that eventually took over. He also has a little sideline writing on cigars, fishing, travel and food. When not writing, fly-fishing for trout in NZ or bonefish on the flats of Cuba, travelling or smoking cigars, he is no doubt following a variety of sporting teams – the occasionally glorious Queensland Reds rugby, the dysfunctional Washington Redskins, the dodgy Arsenal and especially revels in the world restored to its proper axis with the return of the Ashes to their rightful home.
