Tenute Guardasole Boca 2018

Share

Certified organic Boca. The cepage is 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Vespolina. Fruit from 70-year-old vines rooted in volcanic soils and protected from cool winds by a natural amphitheatre. Raised in large neutral oak. A musky, dusty nuance to start, followed by black cherry, decaying red florals, sage, and fennel with a balsamic and ferrous complexity in support. This is excellent Boca. The palate is cohesive and driven with red florals, ferrous, balsamic, and a savoury kick. There’s some broodiness here, and great intensity, while the stacked Nebbiolo tannins and latent lick of acidity carry it very long through the palate. An excellent wine.
