Vespa Primitivo di Manduria 2022

Primitivo – Zinfandel as we know it – which is dubbed ‘di Manduria’, means it hails from southern Puglia. Under natural cork. The colour for this wine is a deep red/ochre with a lovely array of aromas, florals and cherries immediately apparent, along with soy, blueberries, aniseed, cloves and hints of chocolate, but it is the cherries which dominate. A juicy style, well structured, with focus, drive, sleek tannins and a lingering finish. A fine example of the variety from this region, this is a ten year proposition, longer if you must. The freshness found in this wine really appeals.
