Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown Obstgarten K Riesling 2022

Share

Open aromas of lemon, lemon blossom, bath salts, and talc kick off a wine of immediate freshness and purity. A lovely mineral underlay thereafter. It’s very high-toned and bright, though with a sense of depth and layeredness that keeps you looking. Some time in the glass yields cinnamon and apple aromas making for an inviting apple crumble vibe with a subtle suggestion of lemon thyme beneath. All these notes mixed together make for a complex aromatic medley. The palate is quite open and giving, up front, with notes of melon, crushed green apple, lemon juice and jasmine. Interplaying with a good lick of residual sugar that is rapidly guillotined by searing acidity. The close is one of gentle length with citrus and apple juiciness carrying through. A Riesling freshness, complexity, purity, and balance.
