Voyager Estate The Modern Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Share

This is a new wine from Voyager Estate and made from vineyards on the Northern side of the estate. Like all first vintages it is a bit of a work in progress and the 2018 vintage probably does not illustrate where the style will sit, thanks to the bold structure of the vintage.

It is a big Margaret River style – layers of concentrated dark berry and olive tapenade aromas but there is also some delicate violet and herbal complexity sitting underneath. The palate is then juicy and fleshy wth generous fruit sweetness all underpinned by surprisingly muscular tannins. It is wine that clearly needs time but will likely have a long life ahead. Put it down for ten years and then enjoy with herb crusted lamb cutlets.
