Warramunda Estate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2019

Hugely enticing. That bouquet of pomegranate pearls, cranberry, dried herbs, nettle with a swish of aromatic violet sells itself. The wine that follows is in a similar mould.

At 12% alcohol you imagine the flavour might be on the skinny side. No way. It’s delicate, yes, but there are things at 12% that you sometimes miss at 13.5%, like that spray of spring flowers and the intensity of red cherry that permeates the wine. The palate opens up before you. Fills the mouth before moving into a long, sinewy, persistent tannin finish.
