Wynn’s Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Shiraz 2022

There’s attention to detail aplenty here. The wild, savoury notes and dusty leather and earth all joined to a core of dark red fruits and spice – it’s quite the taste experience. Impressive deep purple hues. Fragrance is a combination of plums and loganberry with green peppercorn, spices and dusty cocoa powder. It has your attention with its savoury qualities which then go on to largely inform the palate bringing bacon and charcuterie, leather, bramble and black olive into full play against dark plum fruits. In the background, plenty of spice. There’s a firmness to the tannin, a drying firmness, too, towards the finish. Can definitely take more time in bottle.
