Xavier Wine Upper Yarra Pinot Noir 2024

Share

The fruit for this wine is sourced from the highly regarded Lusatia Park Vineyard in the Upper Yarra. It opens with brightness and red-fruited lift, underpinned by earth and spice that add depth and intrigue. Macerated strawberry and nutmeg lead the charge, with a substratum of rhubarb and liquorice root, edged by pimiento spice. A flicker of Alpine herbs and Campari brings a subtle amaro-like twist. The palate delivers a vivid swath of red fruit – strawberry, raspberry, and Bing cherry – supported by herbal and earthy undertones and a touch of blood orange. Fine chalky tannins lend grip and dimension, while the region’s hallmark acidity carries the wine through to a long, poised finish. A classy Pinot, showing both detail and finesse.
