Yarra Loch Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2024

Share

There is so much to like about this excellent Yarra Valley Chardonnay. It comes from a season which was quite low cropping, but ultimately, with ideal conditions to produce fruit of intensity and good concentration. It’s a combination of clones, predominantly P58, which probably means nothing but I thought I’d tell you anyway, but with a little of the famous Mendoza making an important contribution. It was all wild fermented and whole bunch pressed before 100% barrel fermentation, with the important contribution of solids to add some textural complexity. It spent 13 months on lees, which has added to that richness and concentration. Has a slightly cheesy, flinty stone fruit aroma, while the palate is intense and densely concentrated, but with that Mendoza acidity providing a vibrant lift on the finish.
