Yarra Loch Stephanie’s Dream Chardonnay 2022

Share

This is a slightly finer expression of Chardonnay from Yarra Loch, and reflects the slightly higher proportion of Mendoza clone, bringing that intense acidity into play. It was made in a largely similar way to the Single Vineyard Chardonnay, with whole bunch pressing, barrel fermentation, and full solids, with time in oak for about 13 months on lees. That’s all generated tremendous concentration and layered complexity, while the fine focus extends through to a very long finish. The oak influence sits harmoniously and is perfectly balanced. I love that slightly chalky acid, gunsmoke character that introduces yet another level of complexity, especially on the palate. First-rate wine.
