Yelland & Papps Barossa Valley Shiraz 2023

Share

“Gently pushing the boundaries of our winemaking world,” is how Yelland & Papps describes this series of new $32 releases. Whole cluster, whole berry ferments are employed, and with a high level of earthy savouriness bordering on the funky, consider the boundary pushed with this 2023 Shiraz. Amid the flurry of black fruits and background spice is a world of wet earth, fungal and undergrowth to explore. A few swishes of air will help open up the wine, remember it’s a youngster still, and it will clean up the blunt edges.
