Yering Station Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Share

Destemmed in open fermenters and matured for 18 months in 15% new oak barrels. Cassis, blackberries and spearmint leaf. Cigar cuttings and pencil shavings. This is familiar Cabernet aroma territory but with some rounded blue fruit highlights. A touch of Acai and plum jam. Acidity drives the wine to some grainy tannins that fill the sides and middle palate. Its dryness and perky black and blue fruit are a factor of the cool vintage. This is for drinking now or the mid term cellaring, say 5-6 years. Perhaps a wine for swift decanting and Osso Bucco bones.
