Well the Hills are alive and Shiraz does particularly well in these parts. Rather than singing and dancing, I’d recommend drinking the wine and toasting to the celebration of life. Here you’ll find the raspberry leaf, satsuma plums and boysenberry. A hint of lilac and bay leaf. It’s lovely and ripe without being confected. A very slight chew to the tannins and velvety caress of fine acidity. Some sumac and nutmeg add earthy spice to the finish. A wine that would work well alongside pork meatballs and fresh tomato sugo. Find your nearest Italian neighbour, they will show you how it’s done.
