Yering Station Laura Barnes Pinot Noir 2022

Share

Not immediately upfront and forward. Far from it. Laura Barnes requires a little more attention than its Pinot siblings, a few more swishes in the glass, some air and some time. Briar, earth, leaf, red cherry, cranberry, splashes of spicy aniseed and earthy rhubarb aromas arise as it opens up. While medium in body it has a grainy, almost austere, presence in the glass which belies its depth of flavour bringing in bramble, red cherry, cranberry and earthy rhubarb notes. It shows surprising delicacy, but it is definitely a wine of potential. All it asks is a little time.
