Bellbrae Estate Tetaz Pinot Noir 2022

Dark cherry conserve, plum and woody spice — nutmeg and clove — with allusions of pine mushroom, undergrowth and a meaty nuance. I reviewed this previously and the oak now feels more settled. I like it more at this stage of its life. The palate has a ripe and open feel despite being only 13% abv. Plum and dark cherry conserve lead again, with red liquorice and brown spice in support. Forest floor notes add complexity, and there’s a nice firm tannin assertion that frames it all up, with some meaty tones lingering on the finish. In a good place now, showing character and complexity with structure to spare.
