A slightly more serious wine than the Montepulciano, with a nice mix of fruit and savoury characters: red and black cherry, tomato leaf, herbs and aniseed, which are pretty much all there on the palate as well. The tannins are chewy and starting to integrate, and there’s a nice richness to the wine without being overbearing. Will cellar for a few more years but is drinking well now.
