Alkina Kin Night Sky GSM 2020

This might not be the most pricey wine from Alkina, not by a long shot, and not the most long lived either, but I just love how this wine is pitched with both powerful quite sweet fruits but also a delicious core of savoury minerality so hits the spot in almost every way. Deeply coloured, it opens with fantastic complexity and precision – blackberry, liquorice, spice, dried herbs and rocky minerality. There is then a delicious elegance and subtlety to the palate which adds a distinct stony edge to spicy, meaty flavours. It has both power and grace with balanced tannins over a long, meandering finish. Super wine, and great value.
