Allan Scott Black Label Marlborough Chardonnay 2018

Share

Long time Marlborough producer Allan Scott has seen it all, from the early days of Marlborough through to its now global superstar status. And in that time his Chardonnay has never changed. It’s no wishy washy, modern style – this is your classic oak bomb fermented and aged in French oak barrels to craft a wine that is full of flavour.

It is golden in colour, with guava, honeysuckle and citrus fruits plus lots of spicy vanillin oak to match. It is dry, full-bodied and powerful which is all kept in balance by very crisp acidity driving to a long and bright finish, again backed by some toasty oak. Old fashioned and oaky Chardonnay at its best.
