Allan Scott Marlborough Riesling 2018

Share

You either love or you hate Kiwi Riesling. It’s quite like the Tasmanian style with its high acidity and touch of sweetness with punchy aromatic fruits, and very different to the typical wines from South Australia. Classic regions are Central Otago and Canterbury with not a heap seen in Marlborough.

Allan Scott’s Riesling vineyards were some of the first in Marlborough, planted in 1980, before the boom in Sauvignon Blanc. This is a very typical New Zealand style – with exotic limey, floral, honeysuckle fruits. It is then concentrated with a nice balance between zippy acidity and a touch of sweetness making a great match with spicy, fish curry.
