Altacena Tempranillo 2019

Share

Looking for something a bit different this Summer – a bargain red to wash down anything off the barbecue? Then look no further than this delicious Spanish Tempranillo. It is not from one of Spain’s posh regions but still has plenty of local style. There are layers of ripe dark cherry and cranberry fruits which are given loads of interest thanks to touches of tobacco, roasted meats and earth. Then in the mouth it is dry, fleshy and concentrated with punchy dark berry fruits and spice plus some sandy balanced tannins that support a finish of reasonable length. It is modern Spanish red done well and can be found for a bargain price around town.
