Quite shy initially, but a vigorous swirl reveals plum and dark cherry fruit alongside flickers of rosemary, camphor, bark and black olive, lending a savoury edge. The palate is bright and clean, with dark cherry fruit at the fore, supported by notes of red rose, camphor, dried herbs and hints of tapenade. The tannins are particularly appealing — both firm and pliable — providing a nicely judged frame through a finish of solid length. A lovely expression of Chianti at a modest price point.
