This combination goes right to the heart of the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It’s a wine that picks up the firm structural character of the Nebbiolo while the bright red berries of the plush Barbera provide the palate’s fleshiness. It has a smooth, seamless and almost satin-like texture with bright red fruits and good structure. This is a wine that is just perfect for all manner of Italian foods, and I’m thinking a really good pizza would be perfect.
