Bec Hardy Pertaringa Shiraz 2022

An utterly delicious McLaren Vale Shiraz from a very fine vintage. The colour is a vibrant but opaque purple. The nose gives us plums, hints of licorice, cold tea and dry herbs, with the region’s typical chocolate. There is a plushness here, which is thoroughly appealing. Surprising complexity for a wine at this level. There are also fine but firm tannins, good concentration and intensity with a lingering and extremely persistent finish. Great value and delicious now but could easily handle another decade in the cellar.
