Berrigan Sangiovese Adelaide Hills 2022

Share

Dynamic duo Dan Berrigan & Wendi Ticao are making waves in the Adelaide Hills and Mount Benson, making thought-provoking wines of individual character and expression. This 2022 Sangiovese is from a 20 year old 15ha vineyard planted by Brian Croser in the Hills. There is an abundance of bright red fruit goodness to kick off the aromas here – sour cherry, fresh cranberry, complimented with a seasoning of basil and tomato leaf around the edges. There is bucket loads of energy and freshness on the palate which is tightly wound around that core of red cherry fruit, fresh garden herbs with a long, lingering finish driven by acidity & beautifully woven tannins. Drinking this alongside a weeknight favourite – Tuscan sausage and tomato pasta with fresh basil & parmesan. The framework of the wine cuts through the texture of sausage & the dried herb elements hold hands to lift up the wine. Yum!
